Nutrisystem Review: Kevin

Another week, another diary entry.  Not too happy with my weight loss this week (just one pound), but I still can’t complain about having lost 19 pounds overall.  In the forums at Nutrisystem some of the guys who have been around longer than I have told me that it is normal to hit a plateau and have the weight loss slow down.  Either way I have lost almost twenty pounds and that’s something to be proud of no matter how you look at it.

Cody and I did shoot some hoops last weekend but as usual he beat his old man.  He’s a better ball player than I was when I was his age so I’m not really surprised by it but it does feel good to get out there and spend a couple of hours on the court with him without feeling like I needed an oxygen tank.  I did notice that he broke a sweat more than usual so maybe there’s hope for me to win one yet.

I’m taking Janet for a weekend in a log cabin for our anniversary in a couple of weeks and I haven’t told her about it yet.  What’s really cool about it is that with the convenience of having the Nutrisystem diet food delivered I don’t even have to worry about deciding what we want to eat ahead of time.

I am going to stop by the local market the day before we leave and stock up on the fresh fruits & veggies and other stuff we need and have it all there – including our favorite Nutrisystem meals – so we can just sit back and enjoy a couple of days alone.  After all these years I’m surprised she wouldn’t rather spend a couple of days alone without me!

I had a checkup on Wednesday and my doctor is really happy with my test results.  He said my blood sugar level is better than it has been since I’ve been going to see him. When I told him about Nutrisystem a few weeks ago he wasn’t sure how it would all pan out but now even my doctor is a convert.  He said that he was going to start recommending the Nutrisystem program to some of his other diabetic patients who have been having problems with weight.  I really should be a salesman but the truth is that this stuff really does sell itself.

We’ve been walking so much that I went out during my lunch break yesterday and treated myself to a new pair of walking shoes.  The other pair were looking a little worse for the wear and since they were the same pair I was wearing when I had that scary day at the basketball court with the boys, I decided they needed to go.  Even though I am still losing weight at least I know my shoe size isn’t going to change!

Janet and I both have to go ahead and pick up a couple of pair of jeans this weekend.  Even though neither of us have met our goal weights yet, our pants are falling off!
