Nutrisystem Review: Kevin

Cody was back in town for the weekend from school and that always means that its time for another trip to the basketball court.  I know he’s well on his way to being a power house starter at college but for all of his big talk I think my kid’s actually a little nervous about playing tomorrow’s game of one-on-one.  He can actually see the weight loss now and he knows that it isn’t just because of Nutrisystem.

I think Janet must have told him that we’ve been going to the Y a couple of times a week lately too, because he made a point of grabbing my bicep and telling me “man, Dad, are you trying to buff up for Mr. Universe or something?”  I laughed it off but I have to admit that it did feel pretty good for my oldest boy to notice I’m changing for the better instead of poking me in the gut and calling me “the tire man”.

With all three boys almost grown I thought we would be starting to get that empty nest syndrome you hear them talk about on talk shows all the time but Janet and I are starting to realize that after over 20 years of being full time parents we are ready to be full time partners to each other again.  Our time together just seems to bring us closer and closer.

I don’t want to go into details about private stuff but let’s just say that my performance has improved in places besides the basketball court too.  In fact, things in the bedroom haven’t been better since before Janet and I had kids and that was more than twenty years ago.  My doctor told me several years ago that because of my diabetes I might have to take that little blue pill sometimes when it came to being intimate.

Guess what?  I’m not going to jinx it by saying I’ve been cured or anything but there have been no problems that I need a little blue pill for in weeks.  There was a big discussion on the forums at the Nutrisystem web site about erectile dysfunction and being overweight and almost every one of the guys who said they had E.D. problems were diabetic.

I know Nutrisystem isn’t a miracle cure for diabetes or being overweight for that matter, but I’m living proof that if you use the food and you follow what they tell you it does work and it really can change your life.  Now I’m starting to sound like a Nutrisystem commercial.  Wonder if they’ll start paying me to toss a football to some superstar and tell the world that I’ve lost 18 pounds.  That’s right – eighteen pounds so far and I am not stopping now; that puts me almost half way to my goal of 45 total pounds lost.

Got to go for now; Cody’s going to go walk with his parents tonight.  I think he may be worried about getting his butt kicked on the courts tomorrow.
