Nutrisystem Review: Kevin

What a weekend. Janet and I went on a boat tour of a local canal. We had a blast, and we had a great talk. We talked about our kids, our jobs, our goals, our marriage, our past and our future. We both agreed that the best is yet to come.

Don’t get me wrong, we have always had a wonderful life with each other, but lately we can both see it getting even better. Our kids are almost grown (the youngest is 17), we are more in love with each other than ever, we are looking forward to our years ahead, with just the two of us in the house, and we are both feeling and looking better than ever.

I know Nutrisystem can’t have all the credit, after all, we have always been in love. But I do give them credit for helping us open up new avenues of communication, loving adventure, and our ability to be becoming healthier together.

With such diverse programs, we are both able to eat what we like, enjoy our meals together, sample each other’s food, and watch as both of us lose weight in all the right places.
We have also begun walking together. That has helped us make sure we keep talking, and are very involved with what concerns the other.

My wife recently confided in me that she had wanted to lose weight for some time now, but she wasn’t sure what to do about it. She even thanked me for starting first. It gave her the courage she needed to begin doing this very important thing for herself- getting in shape, becoming healthy, and losing weight.

I told her that I never thought of myself as out of shape until that day playing basketball with the boys.
She was, and is, very supportive of me.

Another thing, I have reached the nine pound mark. That is amazing to me. I guess stepping up my activity level has increased my metabolism so I am losing faster than at first. My wife is up to a six pound loss. She is thrilled with that, and looking forward to reaching her goal of 20 pounds lost.
One more pound, and I can beat the boys (one at a time of course) in basketball without getting so winded, or having chest pains. They keep on reminding me that I owe them a real game.

One new thing I did this week was look at the forums that Janet has been telling me about. I found some very encouraging stories and helpful hints on there. I highly suggest joining the Nutrisystem forums to anyone who is considering joining Nutrisystems. The advice offered is great for beginners and for those who have been on the plan for a while. You can even join in the conversations, and offer others some helpful advice from your own experience.

I decided to join, and have been talking to some other guys who had the same thoughts I did at first, that only women do Nutrisystem. I have been trying to encourage some who have been reluctant to give it a try. I know, for me, it may be the best choice I ever made for my own health.
