Medifast Diet Review: Lisa

I have always been a few pounds overweight, but not enough to consider myself fat, or even worse, obese. The major weight gain for me started with my first pregnancy. I gained 60 pounds with that one, and after my son was born, I had a horrible time taking it off. I had taken all but about 20 pounds of it off, and then got pregnant for baby number two.

With that one, I gained another 60 pounds, and when she was about 2 months old, I was still 60 pounds overweight. I decided to watch what I eat, cutting my portion sizes and calorie amount each day, but after about two weeks, I gave up . What new mom  has time to count calories and write down everything she eats?

I also found that there were some days that I would feed the kids, but then I would get so caught up in what I need to do for them, that I wouldn’t eat my own meal. It was like I forgot that I need to eat too.
Now, my daughter is one, and I’m not planning on having any more kids soon.

I am so tired of being the fat mom in the play group we go to, and when my husband introduces me to his work friends, I feel like hiding. Sometimes I think he must be embarrassed by my weight, like I am. He says he isn’t, and he treats me great, but I guess it bothers me so much that I need to lose weight, that I let it interfere with our relationship.

Today I made a decision. I have a friend who has lost weight with a program called Medifast. She says it’s easy to follow, doesn’t take any time at all with counting calories or writing anything down, and that the weight seemed to just fall off of her when she first started the plan. So, I checked them out online and made an order for their plan. They offer a four week plan and a two week plan. I decided to go with the four week plan, I know I will need to be on it longer than that, but at least it’s a small commitment.
Now, I should receive my first package within a couple of days. I am trying to psych myself up for this diet, but with what my experiences have been with attempting weight loss in the past, I am a little skeptical.

I guess time will tell. I am determined to give it my best shot. I am also determined that even if I fail, I will try something else. Being fat is no fun. Being a young mom, I want to play on the floor with my kids, and enjoy being able to run around with them. Maybe Medifast will be just what I need.

I think I will look for a forum about Medifast on the Internet. That might give me the boost I need to get going.
